Having been born and raised in a small west coast town in France, Stephane earned his culinary diploma in 1991 from the Lycee Hotelier La Rochelle. He did his apprenticeship for three years at the famous L’Epie de Ble de La Rochelle and has worked as sous chef and manager at several fine restaurants in the Charente Maritime region.

 

In 1998, Stephane met his wife-to-be from California who was on a bicycle tour with friends from the Bay Area.   Since relocating with her to Marin, Stephane has worked as sous chef at Hyde Street Bistro in San Francisco and at El Paseo in Mill Valley.  Stephane worked as executive chef at Le Theatre Restaurant in Berkeley and the French Garden Restaurant in Sebastopol. 

 

It is Stephane’s passion for the art of cooking and creativity with flavors that inspire his dishes.  Stephane knows where to shop for the freshest produce and the most delectable meats and fish.   It is his belief that the appetite begins with the eyes, and the presentation of each course is delightful.

Stephane and his wife will work with you to develop a menu – take a look at the sample menus.  Stephane will arrive at your home with ingredients and elements, arrange your dinner table, make the entire meal in your kitchen and clean up! Enjoy having a private French Chef for a night!
